Rest In Peace Sara Anzanello (Italia)

This is just heartbreaking.

Former Italian middle blocker and 2002 World Champion Sara Anzanelllo has passed away (October 25th). The 38 year old touched so many lives on and off the volleyball court. In 2013, Sara received global support when she underwent a LIVER transplant. The hashtag #ForzaAnza was trending in the volleyball world . She overcame this obstacle and we all celebrated how she survived the battle.

Then in mid-2017, she was diagnosed with leukemia.

Last October 25th, Sara said goodbye.

Three days before her death, Sara took time to congratulate the current national team for winning a silver medal at the World Championship. Throughout the tourney. she was also posting about the team’s success and was always one of their best supporters.

Sara, we thank you for showing us how to be very brave and to always be at our strongest when facing battles in life that we could never control. We’d miss your smiles and the positive energy you’ve always showed.

Rest In Peace “Grande Puffo”.
