Kim Yeon Koung’s Fenerbahce Contract Is Over

After spending 6 successful years with Fenerbahce, Korean volleyball superstar Kim Yeon Koung reveals that her contract with the Turkish club team has reached a dead end.

“My contract with Fenerbahce is over. At the moment, I have to think a little bit about my future. I should talk to Fenerbahce and other clubs who are interested to hire me. I have received many offers.

I have just finished the season and I want to have more time to think about my career plans. I have to decide what is best for me.”

This season, Kim and Fenerbahce won the Turkish Cup and the Turkish League despite not having a super star studded team compare to Vakifbank who hired 2016 Olympic gold medalist and MVP Zhu Ting and Eczacıbaşı VitrA who inked expensive contracts with Thaisa, Boskovic and Larson.

What’s next for Kim?

She is currently on a holiday before she heads back to Korea. Her name appears on the preliminary roster of Korea to compete at the 2017 FIVB Grand Prix which starts in July. Like what other main players are doing this season, we won’t be surprised if she takes the season off.

We forgot to add that there’s a rumor Eczacıbaşı wants to hire her and is willing to pay her more than 1 MILLION EUROS.
