In case you didn’t know, the Brasilia Open will be from April 15th – 22nd, 2012 and is the first tourney of the 2012 season.
Top teams to watch out for in the men’s are current world champions Emanuel and Alison, another Brazilian team of Ricardo & Cunha and then Olympic champions Dalhausser and Rogers. Click HERE to see the complete list of teams who are in the Main Draw.
Aside from the strong team up of Larissa & Juliana and Walsh & May-Treanor, Xue-Zhang Xi from China and Ross-Kessy are the other teams in the women’s event to keep an eye on. There are several other strong teams this season, click HERE to see the participants in the Main Draw.

The opening event on the 2012 FIVB Beach Volleyball SWATCH World Tour will once again take place in the Brazilian capital of Brasilia as the international beach volleyball circuit returns to the South American country for the 25th year from April 16-21. Brazil has staged a FIVB Beach Volleyball SWATCH World Tour event every year since the start of the international circuit for men in 1987 and women in 1992. Located in the Central-West region of the country, along a plateau known as Planalto Central, Brasília has a population of about 2,557,000 making it the fourth largest city in Brazil. As the national capital, Brasília is the seat of all three branches of the Brazilian government. The city also hosts the headquarters of many Brazilian companies. The city was planned and developed in 1956 with Lúcio Costa as the principal urban planner and Oscar Niemeyer as the principal architect. In 1960, it formally became Brazil’s national capital. When seen from above, the main planned part of the city’s shape resembles an airplane or a butterfly.
