Kazan Wins Supercup!

What a great start!

Russian club team, Zenit Kazan defeated Lokomotiv Novosibirsk in straight sets (25-23, 29-27, 25-21) to defend the title they won last year. The major change with Kazan’s lineup this season is that Italian setter Valerio Vermiglio has replaced Olympic gold medalist Lloy Ball who transferred to Ural Ufa with Clay Stanley. Plus, Russian eye candy Yury Berezhko has also returned to the league after a forgettable season last year in Italy with Casa Modena.

As always, one of the world’s best players Maxim Mikhaylov led his team to victory with 28 points. Before we forger, Reid Priddy (USA) also plays for Zenit Kazan but will join the team soon as he recovers from his injury.

In case you have an hour and 40 minutes to spare, here’s the FULL MATCH:

Congrats BBs! We also would like to wish Kazan the best at the 2011 World Club Champs in Qatar!
