Russian Club Team Zenit Kazan has a penchant for spoiling His Majesty Lloy Ball.
We have learned that the Zenit Kazan gods and goddesses have decided to retire Lloy Ball’s “#1” jersey starting next season. This is the first time in history that a volleyball player gets this kind of recognition.
This is the kind of honor the NBA has given to the basketball jerseys of Michael Jordan, Earvin “Magic” Johnson & Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
In case you didn’t know, Lloy Ball played 5 seasons with Zenit Kazan and won 4 League Titles. His Majesty decided to retire after this season and possibly return sometime next year (we hope!).
We wonder how it feels when your jersey is forever immortalized in volley history.
Take note, King LB is also one of the world’s highest paid volleyball athletes with a Kazan contract worth more than $1 Million Dollars.
