3 US Players Signed!

We’re so happy for them!

American players Kevin Hansen, Jen Joines-Tamas and Christa Harmotto are already hired for the 2011/2012 season. While most of us are still waiting for Logan Tom, these amazing athletes need not to worry looking for a team because our sources have confirmed they have signed or renewed their contracts.

Amazing!

Christa Harmotto, middle blocker, had a tough season due a meniscus tear which limit her time to shine in the Italian League. Girlfriend is brave! She returned to the US to recover and in just a few weeks rejoined her club team, Liu Jo Modena, in time for the Playoffs. Christa and Team failed to make it to the semifinals.

According to the club’s president, they didn’t have any second thoughts on renewing Christa’s contract because the American middle blocker has a very positive character to go along with her great volleyball skills. The president ended his statement by saying “We have discovered one of the best middle blockers in the world.”

You’re so right Mr. President! Christa is an awesome athlete. We hope to see more of her this year with the US team.

We hope other US players who plan on playing in Italy can display the same character like Christas. Greatness, humility and professionalism can take you far ladies and gents! For more info, just ask Christa.

After playing in Russia this season, 2008 Olympic gold medalist Kevin Hansen will set for Turkish club team Arkas Izmir. Izmir had a successful 2010/2011 season. Despite losing the Turkish League crown, they won the Turkish Cup. Hansen will join Brazilian outside hitter Bravo and Liberman Agamez from Colombia.

Kevin is also getting ready to become a first time dad later this summer.

Well hello there Jennifer!

The 2008 Olympic silver medalist, Jennifer Joines Tamas, will stay in Azerbaijan next season after she renewed her contract with Azerrail Baku.

AZE welcomed quite a few American players like Nancy Metcalf, Kristin Richards, Nicole Davis, Ashley Engle & Tayyiba Haneef Park this past season and no doubt that more will join Jennifer in the 2011/2012 edition.

The Azeri League is getting stronger and stronger plus we’ve been told it’s a beautiful country.

Side Dish: In case you didn’t know, Jordan Larson has renewed her contract with Dinamo Kazan. Larson and Kazan won the Russian Super League and are for sure J-LA and Kazan are so excited to compete in the 2011/2012 edition of the prestigious Champions League.

As soon as we get confirmation regarding the other American players, we’ll post for sure so stay tuned.
