Japan’s Miya Nagaoka To Skip Volleyball Nations League

This is NOT a good sign.

The Japanese left handed spiker is NOT on the preliminary roster for the upcoming tournament which starts in less than 2 weeks. With this exclusion, it appears Miyu is still NOT in the best shape after that ACL injury 1 year ago.

Despite playing her first official match last week, we can safely assume she still needs more time to regain her form. Here’s to hoping she’d be in top shape at the World Championship to be hosted by Japan in September.

Below is Japan’s Preliminary Roster under Coach Nakada:

Setters:
Koyomi Tominaga
Miya Sato
Kanami Tashiro (Toray)

Opposite Hitters:
Risa Shinnabe
Mari Horikawa

Outside Hitters:
Yuki Ishii
Mami Uchiseto
Saori Takahashi
Arisa Inoue
Sarina Koga
Ai Kurogo

Middle Blockers:
Nana Iwasaka
Mai Okumura
Aika Akutagawa
Haruyo Shimamura

Liberos:
Kotoe Inoue
Akane Yamagishi
Mana Toe

The team is currently in Italy for a couple of friendly matches.
