No Rio Games For Margareta Kozuch & Germany

It’s such a sad for Germany women’s volleyball team and their fans.

Their dream to play in the 2016 Olympics has ended after finishing 3rd after 3 matches in the ongoing European Olympic Qualification. Kozuch, Furst and team missed by just 1 point despite having a 2-1 record like The Netherlands and Turkey.

The top 2 teams from each pool advance to the Semifinal Round. The winner of the tournament wins an Olympic berth while 2nd and 3rd ranked teams advance to the World Olympic Qualification Tourney in Japan.

As for Kozuch and Team, this is another heartbreaking journey BUT no doubt they will work harder in the next quad and hopefully play at the 2020 Olympics in Japan. We are just not sure if Kozuch, Brinker and Furst plan to stay or quit from the NT. We hope not…

In case you didn’t know, Germany’s last Olympic appearance was at the 2004 Athens Olympics. The women’s team finished 9th.
