THEY’RE BACK!!!
Two time Olympic champions Thaisa Menezes and Jaqueline Carvalho are officially joining Brazilian club team Barueri for this upcoming season. The duo have already started their preparations and will join the team later in the season.
“Thaisa is on the right path to get back on track after her knee surgery. Jaque just finished her stint in a dancing reality TV show and she is also taking the preparations slowly but surely.” says a source.
Barueri is coached by Ze Guimaraes who is also the head coach of the women’s national team.
Thaisa is on a 1 season loan from her Turkish club team Eczacıbaşı VitrA Voleybol while Jaque played for Minas last season.
The source also adds that both players really want to play in the 2018 World Championship and playing for coach ZRG is a big help.
“There are lots of talented newcomers in Brazil but as we all know coach ZRG heavily relies on experience. This is one of the main reasons why Thaisa and Jaque are playing for him.”
It also looks like Barueri is taking the 2017/2018 season of the Superliga seriously. Two time European champion Kasia Skowronska Dolata has also signed on to play for the team.
