USA’s Kelly Murphy Goes Back To School

The 2016 Olympic bronze medalist and USA’s main opposite hitter at the 2017 FIVB Grand Prix, Kelly Murphy, has decided to go back to school.

With this decision, she will miss the USA Volleyball Cup against Brazil and the 2017 FIVB World Grand Champions Cup next month in Japan.

Per USAV:

Kelly is taking a short break from volleyball as she has returned to the University of Florida this semester to finish her undergraduate college degree in elementary education. Murphy is expected to return to the U.S. Women’s National Team in 2018.

In case you didn’t know, 2016 Olympic bronze medalist Karsta Lowe also decided to take a break from volleyball to go back to school. She is currently studying landscape architecture at USC.
