Canada & Coach Stephane Antiga Part Ways

This is surprising.

After 2 seasons with the Canadian men’s volleyball team, Stephane Antiga has resigned as the head coach citing family reasons.

“It has been an honour to work with the athletes and coaches in the Canadian program. There has been a lot of progress with this team in the past several years, under Glenn Hoag, and I was proud to assist in this tradition of improvement these last two seasons. I have to put my family first, but I will very much miss being involved with the Canadian team, and I wish them continued growth and success moving forward.

I have enjoyed working with the coaches, staff and of course the athletes in Canada and thank the team for making this time a memorable experience.”

Under Antiga, Canada won their first World League medal in 2017 with a bronze medal. Canada finished 9th at the recently concluded Men’s World Championship.

Antiga will fly back to Europe where his family is based. Antiga did not mention what he plans to do next.
