FIVB To Introduce A New SCORING System

It looks like volleyball matches will now finish quicker than what we’re used to.

According to this article, the FIVB plans to introduce a new scoring system at the 2017 Men’s and Women’s Under 23 World Championship later this year.

Here are 2 things you need to know:

Best Of 7

Each set is only to 15 points.

The article also states that the “area” for coaches will now be eliminated. We wonder where these coaches will be standing during a match.

We strongly believe that the FIVB wants to do this to make indoor matches more TV friendly.

The women’s tournament will be in Slovenia August 27th until September 3rd while the men’s competition will be hosted by Egypt from August 18th – 26th.

For now, let’s stay tuned for more changes.
