Saori Kimura In Turkey

The Japanese V-League will surely miss her!

Seriously, Saori has played for so long in the Japanese League that we can hardly picture the league without her. She is Japan’s phenomenal & biggest volleyball star! We hope her absence will not affect fan attendance during the upcoming professional season.

On the other hand, playing in Europe will for sure develop her skills even more.

Anyways…

The 25 year old Kimura, who has represented her country in more than 200 matches,  has signed on to play for Turkish club team and 2010/2011 Champions League gold medalist VakıfBank Türk Telekom for 1 season. Both parties declined to release Saori’s $alary.

Take note, she won’t be the only star of the team. Vakifbank has reportedly also signed on former Fenerbahce Yellow Angel Naz Aydemir, 2011 European Champion Jelena Nikolic, the talented Malgorzata Glinka, 2011 European Champion & MVP Jovana Brakocevic and one of the world’s best blockers Christiane Furst. Turkish national team players like Gozde Sonsirma Kirdar, Polen Uslupehlivan and Bahar Toksoy round up an extremely strong roster for the 2012/2013 season.

Aside from competing in the Turkish League, Vakifbank will also play in the world’s most prestigious club tournament, the CEV Champions League.

With this talented squad coach by Germany’s Giovanni Guidetti, we expect Vakifbank to win it all.

Plus, how is Guidetti going to manage his roster knowing that the Turkish League only allows 2 foreign players on the court? Unless that rule has been changed.

THOUGHTS?
