Polish Federation To Take Control

November 16th, 2013

Polish superstar and 2 time European Champion Kasia Skowronska releases her statement in regards to the upcoming rule to be imposed by the Plish Federation.

Kasia says…

”I have to admit that I’m not surprised, because I expected that the relationship finally reach the most serious arguments. But, I doubt the effectiveness of this method. Because players are not slaves and if someone does not want to play, the coach will have a greater benefit from it. If someone is forced to play, what do you think, will he or she really give the whole heart on the court? I think it is better to arrive at the training camp with a smile on the face.

Also, you can’t put everyone in the same boat. There are different situations. Some of the girls were not in the team because they really had health problems. After all, we all know who is not playing in the national team because don’t want to, and who really can’t . No one, however, will say that loud.”

We agree with you Kasia! Players are NOT slaves!

OH NO!

If true, this is going to be an interesting policy.

A report has surfaced that the Polish Federation is in the process of implementing a policy among its players starting next year. The policy is that the player will be punished by suspension or paying a fine if he or she fails to honor or declines the invitation to play for the National Team.

Siatka.org adds…

Polish media got confirmation by anonymous source from the Federation:

“We just want to send a clear signal to the players and the staff. For now, we will just ask and appeal, but we do not rule out taking more radical measures. We can not afford that, for example, coach of the women’s national team could not count on several best volleyball players, as it was in recent period.”

The punishment might include suspending the athlete’s right to play professionally.

Former player and coach, Richard Bosek, strongly disapproves the rule because there is NO written policy in Poland to force players to represent the team.

If the rule is approved, we expect a volleyball revolution in Poland.

Any Thoughts?
