The final match of the tournament, jointly organized by VC Vojvodina NS Seme NOVI SAD and a school of volleyball from Novi Sad, was played in front of a large number of bystanders at the Square of Liberty in Novi Sad.

There were 8 teams, finalists of the Pre-Youth Boys’ and Girls’ Municipal Championships of Novi Sad, participating in the tournament. After playing an exhibition match with them, the senior men of Serbia gave away t-shirts, uniforms, volleyballs, hats, and special gifts prepared in cooperation with the Vip mobile company, general sponsor of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia. This way, the Volleyball Federation of Serbia continued with the project of social awareness, now called Volleyball Connects at City Squares.

The citizens of Novi Sad found the most enjoyment when the complete senior men’s national team of Serbia arrived at the Square of Liberty. This happening was officially attended by Predrag Svilar, municipal secretary for youth and sports of the City of Novi Sad, Howyda Mondy, FIVB Supervisor, Simone Santi and Frans Loderus, international referees, Zoran Avramovic, marketing director in the Volleyball Federation of Serbia, Nikola Salatic, director in VC Vojvodina NS Seme, and Nikola Maric, sports director in VC Vojvodina NS Seme.

“This project shows that volleyball is really for everyone and that it connects people in the best possible way. This is great. If you see the happiness on children’s faces, your heart is filled with joy and excitement. Keep up with the good work and keep the ball flying,” said Howyda Mondy.

“This was the best possible invitation for volleyball fans in Novi Sad to come and see the World League matches between Serbia and Bulgaria, but the most important thing is that our national team players are always willing to participate in this kind of events, and that they are trying their best to make children happy and to let their fans interact with them. Of course, with the addition of some great gifts we prepared in cooperation with our general sponsor, the Vip mobile company, I can say that this was a wonderful night,” said Zoran Avramovic.

This weekend, Serbia will play the matches of the fifth weekend in the 2014 FIVB World League against Bulgaria. The first match will be played on Friday, June 27, at 20:00 local time in Novi Sad and the second one is scheduled for Sunday, June 29, in the city of Nis.
