Where To Play Volleyball In Japan

by admin Apr 18, 2017, 2:40 pm 1 Comment

When volleyball players travel to a different country for work or for a holiday, we have the tendency or get the urge to look for a place to play volleyball.

For example, you decide to visit Japan aka one of the top volleyball countries in Asia and in the world. Ever wonder where you can play some volleyball?

Check out OHCA Global Support!

Below is my special interview with the OHCA Team.

1. What exactly does your company do?

We are a new Japanese company with a mission of connecting Japan with the world in volleyball and to provide players of any level more access to go play in different countries. We believe the awesomeness to share a love for the sport with many other players of diverse backgrounds and to be exposed in the different worlds.

First, we bridge aspiring Japanese volleyball players with colleges in the U.S. Japan has lots of good dedicated young players and we wanted to make sure that they know they have a choice/chance to go to colleges in the U.S. So we help them contact with college coaches in the U.S. to get recruited, preferably with volleyball scholarship. We also take them to the combines throughout a year. We actually just came back from Hawaii combine which 3 Japanese girls joined and got recruited!

Second, we coordinate an individual and team from abroad who want to come to Japan to play with our teams in any levels, ranging from V- league teams, colleges, high school, to elementary school. We hosted a club team from California last summer to play against our V-league teams and colleges!

We also coordinate Japanese individuals and teams who want to go abroad to play. It can be a short tour, or long term.

2. If I am visiting Japan and want to play volleyball with the locals, how can your company help me?

You can simply contact us via our website: www.ogs-volley.com/english

Then we will introduce you to a team you can join training while in Japan, according to what you want to do; cities, dates, level etc. We have lots of volleyball connections through our coaches all over Japan so we will find you the best local team to play.

We also have a big social volleyball website where people can search and connect with volleyball teams and players, so we can use this database also to find your need: volleyball-station.com

3. You help students from Japan find a school in the US as a student athlete? How does it work?

We make profile videos/CVs for each Japanese player and connect with coaches in the U.S., based on players’ preference. We also take Japanese students to combines/ showcases abroad. In the future, when we have many students who want to go to colleges in the U.S., we would organize combines in Japan and we invite coaches from abroad to recruit the Japanese players.

The biggest obstacle for Japanese players to go to colleges abroad would be “English proficiency”. Therefore, we have started a volleyball school in Tokyo which is run only in English to improve the language skill as well to get ready for the exciting new opportunities and adventures!

I personally met Sachi and Hiroshi in Tokyo and no
doubt they will take care of you if you visit Japan. -Ace Volleywood
