Destinee Hooker (May) Returns To The FIVB Stage

This is exciting for her fans.

2012 Olympic silver medalist and former player of Team USA, Destinee Hooker, will most likely return to the FIVB stage after 6 years. She and her Brazilian club team, Minas, recently won the 2018 South American Club Championship.

Winning the tourney grants Minas a secured ticket to compete at the 2018 FIVB Club World Championship to be heled in Zhejiang, China with dates still to be announced.

Hooker’s last FIVB tourney was the 2012 FIVB Grand Prix Preliminary Round and then the 2012 Olympics with Team USA. Due to a reported conflict with the coaching staff, she has been excluded from the team since 2013.

With the dates still pending for the major club tourney, it’s not OFFICIAL yet that Hooker will compete with the team. We have a feeling she will and her fans in China will get to see her compete in one of the most prestigious club tourneys.

Minas is also the club team of American player Sonja Newcombe and Brazilian star players like Rosamaria, Carol Gattaz and libero Leia.
