Remember the great setter from Stanford University? He was named the 2010 American Volleyball Coaches Association Player of the Year for NCAA & he won the NCAA Crown Ring in the same year. He was also named as the Co-Most Outstanding Player along with teammate Brad Lawson at the 2010 NCAA Tournament.
For sure, you already guessed it right.
But since there are 3 Shojis we know (the setter, the libero and the legendary coach). We’re actually talking about the one and only KAWIKA SHOJI!
In case you didn’t know, Kawika is currently playing in the Finnish League for Tampereen Isku-Volley club.
After finishing 3rd during the Regular Season, Kawika and Team won their quarterfinal matches 3-0 (Best of 5) but lost in the semifinal round 2-4 (Best of 7).
They will now play for the Bronze medal (Best of 3) starting tomorrow against Team Etta.

We watched the 2010 NCAA Final Match between Kawika and Stanford VERSUS Penn State University and we really enjoyed watching Kawika on the court. He was very intense yet very positive. He was a great leader and he showed a lot of confidence on his hitters, ie Lawson and Evan Romero. Knowing Stanford had a forgettable season the year before, Kawika and Team worked hard and never lost hope to change their destiny from LAST to FIRST. We met him once while training with the National Team last summer & we were/are very impressed with is charisma & his down to earth personality. Great skills & great personality make a Great Athlete just like Kawika. Hands down to this man!
